Meghauli Golaghat

Meghauli is a small beautiful village in western Chitwan that is now part of Bharatpur Metropolitan City in Province No. 3 of central Nepal.

Meghauli is one of the richest villages in Chitwan in terms of wildlife, different cultures and sports is located in the adjacent of Chitwan National Park. It is also the western entrance to the Chitwan National Park that attracts to the thousands visitors every year to explore its rich flora and fauna. The huge 25 km long community forest is another eye catching scenic beauty of Meghauli.

National crocodile dreedy pond and medicinal herbal farming in the buffer zone are the main attractions in the Meghauli. Further, rafters, after a trip end at the Golaghat, the confluence of Narayani and Rapti River, can see the sunset and a view of the Himalayas. Meghauli has a good balance between human settlement and wildlife.

Apart from these, meghauli has been the home for the luxurious resorts and villa, where you can relax and enjoy the world class hospitality. Also, it is a very interesting place to learn about the local indigenous Tharu people, as the village is a very well preserve example of a traditional settlement and now is possible to stay at one of the 5 Tharu Homestays. Meghauli also is famous for its rich fauna and has been the best place for the bird watching. Birds like Bengal florican, giant horn bill, lesser florican, black stork and white stork and one horned rhinoceros, Bengal tigers, one horned bill, Gharial makes this place more attractive. Naryani river flows north of Meghauli, which is the deepest and also one the biggest rivers of Nepal. Eastern side of Narayani bank in the megahuli is regarded as holy site for the Hinduism. Whereas Rapti rivers flows south of Meghauli and bank of Chitwan national park.
